California long weekend - Day 2&3

Saturday we went to Crystal Cove State Park for the day (just a couple miles from Sussie's), they had great beach access and the crowds were not too heavy.  The Gerardot's drove down from their home in Stockton, CA to enjoy the day on the beach with us.  It was a nice slower day after Disneyland and to catch up with our good friends!

We left around 4 to go clean up for the surprise birthday party that evening.  The party was a success; Uncle Norman was definitely surprised.  We enjoyed great wine, company, and food. It was a pleasure to meet more of Kenny's siblings.  The kids were fantastic, Xalen hung out with the boys and played on my Ipod touch, and Brinlee just loved the opportunity to played with the older girls. We all turned in before the living room became a dance floor but enjoyed the live saxophone music as we drifted into dream land.

Sunday we hit the Jake's surf shop to get Xalen a rash guard  (he got his first sun burn at the beach...note to self - don't use new sunscreen without testing first even if it is rated really well...) and spent some time at the neighborhood pool with Sean's cousin Kalia.
